How we pack heavy planes and solid metal tools
Heavier items like wooden-bodied or metal-bodied planes are placed so their weight sits low in the parcel and they won’t shift. We wrap or cushion the body and blade area, pad corners and add internal bracing or stiffeners to stop movement. The package is then sealed in a box sturdy enough to support the weight and labelled appropriately so carriers handle it with care during collection and transit.
